Clear Aligners in Sarasota, FL
Clear aligners are an excellent, discreet orthodontic treatment option that comfortably fits over your teeth to gradually move and adjust your teeth alignment and spacing. Custom-made to your specific situation, the aligners are created with models of your current teeth and the end result you are hoping to achieve. About every ten days, you will switch to a new aligner, which will shift your teeth slightly. Depending on the amount of adjustment needed, the total treatment time can vary from 6 months to over a year. To ensure you get the best results, you should only remove the aligners for eating, drinking, and cleaning. Initially, the aligners may feel tight but will loosen over time to provide maximum comfort.

How does the clear aligner process work?
To start, we’ll take photographs of your teeth and face, take dental impressions of your teeth, and take x-rays. All of this information will be used to create an accurate 3D model of your teeth. Dr. Aygen will ensure the mold is precise. Once the mold is finalized, trays will be created and sent out to Sarasota Dental Arts. You’ll need to wear a set of trays for around two weeks at a time for approximately six months, or the length of time determined by your dentist.

Clear aligners vs. braces—what's the difference?
There are many differences between clear aligners and braces, we’ve listed some of the largest ones here. Ultimately, the decision is up to you, but the introduction of clear aligners to the market introduced a more efficient, less painful way to straighten teeth.
- Materials. Clear aligners uses clear transparent aligners, while braces use wires and brackets.
- Removability. Clear aligners can be removed by the user at any time, while braces can only be removed by a professional.
- Food Restrictions. Clear aligners allow a user to eat whatever they would like and not make changes to their oral care practices, while braces restrict what the user can safely eat and require special maintenance and care.
- Injury Risks. Clear aligners do not present any injury risks, while braces can lead to cuts and other injuries.
- Visibility. Clear aligners are nearly impossible for others to notice, while braces are almost impossible to miss.
-
How much do clear aligners in Sarasota, FL cost?
The cost for clear aligners treatment is similar to the cost for metal braces. Costs can vary, depending on:
- Insurance coverage. Most insurance plans cover clear aligners the same way they cover metal braces. It is rare that insurance will cover clear aligners for purely cosmetic reasons, but each case is different.
- Length / complexity of treatment. With clear aligners, you get new clear aligners every couple of weeks, so the cost varies, depending on if your treatment requires more (or fewer) aligners.

Who can use clear aligners?
Most teenagers and adults seeking mild to moderate orthodontic corrections can benefit from clear aligners. This includes individuals with crooked and misaligned teeth, noticeable spacing issues, and even minor bite concerns. However, it is important to note that clear aligners are not suitable for addressing all orthodontic issues; more extensive problems may require other forms of treatment.
